Friday 10.15 - 12.15
Mindful that poetry began as a spoken art – verse and voice went together – this informal course celebrates that oral tradition. We read poems aloud – normally on a selected theme and from the centuries; poets chosen last year ranged from Byron to Betjeman, Donne to Duffy, Homer to Heaney… And, from time to time, we also listen to recordings of poets and actors bringing poems to life. During each session there is ample opportunity for discussion and for furthering our knowledge of particular poems and poets.
If you enjoy poetry and sharing it with others, do come and join us.
