Tuesday 10.15 - 12.15
Ever wanted to know why we behave the way we do? Then this is the course for you. We will look at the different approaches in psychology, from Freud and his psychoanalytic theory, to the Behaviourists such as
B F Skinner who demonstrated how we could shape people’s behaviour and train them to behave the way we want them to. It will also look at cognitive psychology, which explains how our thought processes can affect our behaviour and humanistic psychology which looks at how we perceive ourselves based on the information provided by others. The course will also cover topics such as why we obey, are first impressions really that important? And how our memories work. This is an interactive course which will consist of both lectures and class room activities.
