Becoming a Member

The Institute welcomes visitors at any time during opening hours. If you would like to learn more about our facilities, please call in to either of our buildings:

  • The Reading Room & Library, 15 Tavern Street, Ipswich IP1 3AA
  • Admiral’s House, 13 Tower Street, Ipswich IP1 3BE

To purchase a membership, please either use the button below to complete your purchase online, or speak to the library team, where you can make your payment by cash, cheque or card.

Monthly direct debit options are available for Individual and Household memberships.

To move to an Honorary Membership, available to those aged 90 or over and a member for five years, please speak to one of the library team.

Individual Membership: £115.00
Household Membership (all occupants aged 16 and over): £210.00
Monthly direct debit options available.

Student Membership (in full-time education): £40.00
Honorary Membership (for existing members, aged 90 or over who have been a member for five years or more): £40.00
