We’re the home-base for the Ipswich Tourist Guides Association.

The Ipswich Tourist Guides are a small group of volunteers who organise guided walks within the Borough of Ipswich, Suffolk’s County Town, and one of the oldest towns in England. They have all been trained as tour guides and are keen to share their knowledge of the history and culture of this fascinating East Anglian port. Walks start from the Ipswich Institute at 15 Tavern Street, Ipswich, IP1 3AA.

You do not have to be a member of the Institute to come on one of the walks.

Tuesday Walks (£6 per person)

Starting from the Institute at 2pm.

From our central location we can head off to each point of the compass to find sites of interest in our county town.

Thursday walks (£6 per person)

Our regular Thursday walks meet at the Institute at 2pm.

Tea Walks (£12 per person)

Come for a themed walk around Ipswich and finish off with Tea and a cake at the Institute or one of the many cafes in town.

Walks usually start from the Admiral’s House, at 13 Tower St, IP1 3BE and will begin at 1 30pm.
